Costa is a registered professional sanitarian and President of the company with more than 33 years of environmental health practice in the academic, government and private sectors. Mr. Costa is a food safety consultant, educator, auditor and expert with international experience. 

Mr. Costa, is the author of recognized Internet food safety courses and classroom-training programs and numerous publications in the area of food safety. Mr. Costa’s presentations include over 50 technical and scientific papers at local, national and international conferences. Mr. Costa has been quoted in dozens of newspaper articles and in his TV and radio appearances. He also conducts training and research for businesses and public agencies in the US and many parts of the world.

We provide consultation to the legal profession and have provided legal opinions in over 60 lawsuits associated with environmental agents of public health concern. Mr. Costa was the lead private investigator in the national outbreaks of infections due to contaminated peanut butter, pot pies, spinach and eggs.

Our firm develops Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and other prevention programs in a wide spectrum of applications and is experienced in developing and applying methods in microbiological risk assessments, creating food safety standards for companies, and the effective use of technology.

Mr. Costa is a graduate of the University of Arizona (BS Fisheries Biology, Minors Chemistry, Mathematics) and the Florida Institute of Technology (MS Health Services Management-MBA)  and has completed post-graduate courses in public health at the University of South Florida; College of Public Health.
